How the hell does that work then? There is no obvious other part to make contact/block signal/otherwise.

Intriguing.

cheers Don ;)

From the looks of it my guess would be, it's a magnetic switch. Is there anything metallic close to it when the handbrake is operated?

cheers mate :)

evidence of previous dog owner :( always wondered why the INSIDE of the rear glass is scratched!

I also found a pound and 20p, a small pink heart-shaped sticker and something that if "job" had found, would have ended up with me being arrested and cautioned probably....!

nuff said ;)

Sorry for the mislead...........

After closer inspection of the picture and seeing more than one wire attached to it, a rummage through the wiring diagrams points to it not being the parking brake switch but an ABS G sensor assembly as shown here item 6..............

A better illustration of its location for the FXT version here..........

yes, good spot Don :) I played wi t'handbrake today and can confirm after reading this that I found the switch was within handbrake lever assembly/

How does that actually work??

I find the position of it interesting, relative to the handbrake though. Wondering also if its location is midway between axles and central relative to wheelbase..?

too drunk to think straight following a poor game of football? probably...
