I just did my 3rd spark plug change (88,000 miles) and the one thing i have noticed since my first swap at 30,000 is the amount of oil surrounding the plug when it is removed -- not in the head or on the plug electrode, but in the plug recess in the head.

lot's of oil in the front plug area, less in the rear. the car runs fine and i am not consuming oil (about 24 oz every 5000 miles).

Never had a chance to talk to the dealer about it.

When they replace the valve cover gaskets there are seals that are also replaced around the spark plug holes.
