Hi all.

I have a 2011 Forrester which spun a bearing on 05/01/14. Basically car ran low on oil yet there was no warning with the oil light coming on after the damage was done. $600 tow later I took it to the local Subaru dealer who are the only ones to ever service the car, worried that they would say I let it run low on oil so it would be a cost of a new engine for me.

2.5 weeks later the small block has been replaced and the head re-machined. All done under warranty. The dealer even gave me a 2013 Outback as a loan car while the repairs happened. Sometimes warranty stories have a happy ending. I have since read all the posts on this forum about the 2011 forrester burning oil to make sure it doesnt ever happen again!
