Hello, Just bought a 19 Forester limited to add to the fleet. I have a 99 Explorer Sport set up to overland on 33s and a stock 18 Chevy 1500 High Country that my wife drives...OK it's hers.

In the first week I've ordered complete Primitive skid plates (all three) and the Thule cross bars for my RTT. I'm also looking at lifts and rims/tires but with the new bolt pattern rim choice is limited.

Headed to CO in a week and I'm not sure whether or not to take the Subie or the Explorer. I have off roaded most of my life and I know what the Explorer will do, I just don't have the confidence in the Subaru yet to jump in. Hopefully, some of you can give me some advice.

Those wheels are so vulnerable to damage because of the tire profile. I wouldn't get them anywhere near a rock, curb or even mud.
