I selected the OEM Subaru Hitch because it's well engineered and mounted completely within the bumper, with the exception of the receiver. I don't plan on pulling heavy trailers but I want the convenience of hitch mounted bike racks and cargo carriers and I don't like the aesthetics of how the receiver pokes through the bumper (example picture attached) and how the bumper is excessively trimmed for clearance. If you're handy with a welder, a simple ninety-degree turn of the receiver can conceal the receiver behind the lip of the bumper (see remaining attachments) and a similar 90-degree modification to a hitch extension (Curt uses solid bar stock) provides all the options needed for trailer towing or the mounting of your favorite accessories. More pictures and details are available if there are any questions.
