I just recently had both my front axles replaced.
The driver side:
The passenger side:
My maintenance invoice indicates both parts are 28321sc003. The passenger side one looks like OEM pictures, but the driver side one has a green shaft instead of the barrel? Are they both OEM?
That's very odd, I've never seen an OEM CV axle that was not black...the shaft is green on one and then the joint is same green on the other, I suspect they are not OEM but maybe someone else knows? Where did you have the work done?
@Natedog I have a Subaru Forrester 2012. The cup for the axle was green. I have to do a replacement on one side but the only axle available is a brand (drive-tech). The auto shop claim it'll last as long as the genuine. Haven't seen it yet.
@todobless, Interesting, was it original axle? IME I'll pass on any aftermarket CV axles, rebuilt by Subaru would be fine if they sell them otherwise new from Subaru.
