I'm trying to repair the noise on the rear passenger side of a 2003 Forester XS 2.5 AT with abs disc brakes.
When I removed the rotor, it seems like the strut/spring part of the e bake was put back in the wrong orientation.
I'm not sure. The Subaru parts diagram shows the strut spring on the left as you look at it with the adjuster on the bottom. Does anyone know the correct way to install the strut/spring? This and old springs (which I am replacing) is currently the source of all the noise, which sound like birds chirping. I suspect the springs because the noise doesn't increase with velocity. I did grind the rotor lip and splash shield. Helped enormously.

I found the info in a service manual. The strut springs always face towards the front of the car. All good. Now I need to replace all of those old springs. 138k miles.
