Wifelets Foz has a rebuilt engine done about 10,000 miles in it.

She has a VF28, FSTI Injectors & a Walbro Fuel Pump.

She picked me up from the Pub this evening (still not driving Mole Tunnel injury )

She pulled out of a junction & something came up fast & she booted it.

No hesitaion or anything like that but no boost.

I asked about it she says sometimes (this has all stated recently I think) when she is at traffic lights waiting for them to change, it does the "Washing Machine" thing?/

Any ideas please??

Cheers.

Kind regards

BCS maybe? Could be sticking closed and thus not allowing boost to build before opening the wastegate... I have a spare that I'm planning to use for my switchable boost mod - your welcome to borrow it.

Right, finally got to the bottom of it today.

Wifelet's car was in for a service today.

Changed the Intercooler, boost valve, still no joy.

#Plugged it into the machine it says Air Flow Problem.

Took off the MAF (it came with a new one) & cleaned it, much better.

Foresters say to get the best out of New SFI Injectors, Walbro Fuel Pump & VF28 Turbo a remap.

It came with a TD04 with the ecu set for that.

I think they are probably right, however, as usual, a big thank you to all for your advice.

So when we can afford it, down to powerstation for the remap.

Regards.

Foresters had a special fluid in a can Windsor Wurth, i think. High octane like glue.

Seemed to do the trick.

Regret to say Wifelet's Foz has taken a step backward.

Not boosting etc.

Anyway, Lunch Time today, I met a Petrol Head who has 2 Lotus motors, ex RAF Engine fitter.

I talked with him about the symptons, 3 different turbos fitted to her Foz, all whinning (just like her:icon_wink:).

Lack of grunt etc.

He is 100% convinced it is a leaking pipe. ( after I told him the Subaru Machine said Air Flow Fault)

What to do is, take off all the pipes into the Turbo BOTH Ends, then put them back on.

He reckons the clamps either end could be at faultr.

Anyway, this Guy races his Lotus & is pretty clued up.

Question, where are all the pipes both ends, hw many, & what do you think?

I hope Don or Simon are reading this.

Thanks for reading this.

Regards.

One thing worth mentioning, handle the IC with care. It seem no matter how careful I am, I always manage to bend a fin or two when taking off and reinstalling it. Be mindful of where you grab it is all. It seems if you look at them funny they bend :(

Right went to Foresters today, they changed all the hoses going to the Turbo.

No joy>>>:icon_frown:

They then changed the piping under the Intercooler>> No joy.:icon_frown:

Then they changed the boost valve under the IC.

Bingo, it boosts great now:icon_biggrin:

Well done Foresters, 3 hours & cxharged me next to nothing.

Wifelet is happy now>> well almost:icon_wink:

Regards
