hi everybody,
i've got an '07 xt automatic.

putting it in Drive from a cold start, i let the car roll forward without stepping on the gas. from the transmission area (i'm guessing) comes a churning/vibrating noise that goes away in 2 seconds. happens every morning on cold starts.

the churning/vibration noise doesn't come back throughout the day unless the car has been parked for an extended period of time.

is that normal?

i'm guessing that the noise is coming from the transmission. it could be coming from anywhere.

sitting in the driver's seat, it feels like it's under my feet. again, this noise does not appear when i start the car again throughout the day.

Hi -

I'm experiencing same sensation here... The sound comes right from behind the shifter but it's more like plastic tapping sound. My second morning - it stays there for some 5 minutes and than it goes away, later on I drove the car (35.000 kms) it stopped!
