Hi. I'm living in New York City. Just bought my first Subaru. It's a 2019 Forester Sport. Just got out of a 3-yr lease with a Lexus Rx 350 and am still getting used to the lighter 4 cylinder boxer w/CVT. So far I'm happy with the ride. However, yesterday while highway driving a rock chipped my windshield. Now investigating the cost and other issues related to replacing the windshield.

I decided to install a few months after I got my ‘17 a hood deflector part # E231SSG200
A lot of members mentioned replacing 2 and even 3 windshields in a short period of time and members with the hood deflector installed for years not a single chip.
It is not too expensive ($70 +-) and installation was very simple.
I think it looks good too.

Hi. Not sure how a hood protector protects a windshield, but it might be something I'll use to protect the hood.
