Brand new poster here. I found this site while looking for an answer to a question I have. Yesterday I stopped to fill up with gas. After filling up I immediatly pulled onto an entrance ramp to get on the freeway. While accelerating up to speed I heard and felt a lound knock or bump. The engine had been killed. I coasted off the side of the road and took stock. None of the dash lights were on. No strange smell, nothing. I restarted the engine and it cranked easily. Drove home (20 miles or so) and not another problem. It drove fine to work this morning. Do any of you have any ideas as to what happened. I've never seen anything like this. It's a 04 XS. I have no idea. You could have had some bad gas?...could be a million things...best to take it straight back to the dealership and have them look at it, run diagnostics, and put it on record.

Have the same model... never had that happen.

Sounds like bad gas maybe.
