Hello guys.

Just got my 98 Forester S Turbo, manuel gearbox.
The first ting I want to do is add some HP`s to it.
I understand that a good start is to put on a wrx td04 turbo, a manual boost controller and maby a wrx TMIC?
Is there other turbos then the td04 that is "bolt on" ?
And where is the best place to get turbo`s and stuff?
Any tips, hints and "how to" is much appreciated :)

Trying to suck up as much info as I can....

Back in Norway it is a bit expensive with parts, lol.

Foresters are great motors.

In the UK we have saying on modifications>>>> "It only cost £60"


That's what we tell our other halves!

Right, Green Cotton Panel Filter is a start.


Bigger Turbo.

The tdo4 has limitations.

Try the VF Series (look in search on here).

Decatt your exhaust if you can get away with the emissions testing in your country.

Iridium Spark Plugs help.

Larger Fuel Pump.

Bigger Injectors.

Then a Remap.

I will forward Powerstation (look at their Videos to loo at) these are ex RAF Jet Engine Technicians>

I started off with 177 Brake & now, many £60's later have 302 BHP.

There other members on here that have far more North Downs for instance.

Mine is a 2 Litre, the 2.5 Litres seem to make more power.

Thanks for the info.

TBH around 300 hp is what I am looking for.
Could I ask what setup you have Alan MaC?

anyone running a VF23 or vf24 turbo? would this be a direct fit?
And where would be a good place to by a new one?
What about Dump valves? any one to recommend ?

VF41 Turbo, STI Pink Injectors, 225 Rally Fuel Pump,Baileys A/Dump Valve, WRX Intercooler, Zero Sports Intercooler Splitter, Iridium Spark Plugs, H&S Stainless Steel Exhaust, Full decat, STI Up Pipe, JDM Blue cotton Sports Air Filter, a couple of remaps @ Powerstation.

Whilteline Drop Links suspension, 17" STI Anthrocite Alloys,4 Wheel Geometry line up and now a new engine.


I think thats about it really.

Lots of "it only cost £60" :biggrin:

Anyplace in the UK you could recommend for purchase of Turbo`s, dump`s and other stuff?

I was wondering about buying a HID kit aswell, but since I am at work ATM (working on a ship) I don`t know what kind I should buy. Anyone got som input here? is it a H4 kit I want for the front main lights?

In an EDM s-turbo a TD04 is only good for about 260bhp, 280 with a lot of supporting mods, so for 300 you are looking at a VF or a TD04 hybrid which scores well (AP and Don on here both use one from Andy Forrest).

I have been looking at a vf 29 at ebay
With the right Injectors, tmic,Fuel Pump ++

would this be up for 300hp?

Morning.

Ok, then I have a IHI vf 29 on the way and 3 new gauges from XyberAutos

Then I have the TMIC, Injectors,bov and boost controller left,fuel pump. And a few more 60£`s :)

Anyone wanna recommend me a bov and a TMIC? can I use TMIC of year 2000+ sti`s?

BOV, stick with standard part suitable for whatever IC you have, best all round!

I have seen that many people specify intercooler as UK ones. Is this because of your Right side steering wheels perhaps? does this effect me on my left side 98 forester?
