I'm looking at buying an 04 XT MT w/61000 mi but, when I recieved the service records it had that the clutch/pressure plate had been replaced at 55k @ a subaru dealership. Is this a sign that this XT has been driven TOO hard?

Thats tough to answer. A clutch used in city driving could wear out in 55k I suppose. Could have been replaced because of the owner not wanting to put up with "clutch judder" that some Foresters suffered from.

Any idea of the age of the previous owner? 61k for a 94 thats low mileage. Might want an opinion from a mechanic on any hidden problems.

Car is at a dealer(not subaru) about 5 hrs from me. They got it from another dealership so I dont know the age of the previous owner. They had there guy look at the car and everything looks good. It has a clean 1 owner carfax but I don't have time to personally drive the car myself.
