Bad news and good news. I bought my '04 thinking it was new enough to not have head gasket issues. Found out it had a coolant leak on one side and an oil leak on the other.
The good news is that I teach at a community college and their automotive program is tearing down the engine with no labor charge to me. Very cool.
I bought the timing belt kit awhile back, so I have all of those goodies. Now I need whatever is necessary for head gasket replacement--HG, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets etc. I've been told it doesn't need valve seals and they won't be doing any head work on it. I want to get something that will last awhile. Should I go factory? (140 mile drive to the dealership) or aftermarket? Anyone had good luck with any particular brands?
Thanks
