Hi All,

Long time lurker here.

I have 2016 2.5 NA with CVT with about 45,000km on it (28,000 miles) and I started noticing a strange beep noise when starting in the morning (cold engine) or stop/starting in traffic (warm engine).

I have searched for similar symptoms in the net and suspect the battery is close to the end of the lifecycle, but not 100% sure.

Although this doesn't happen all the time, but getting close to happening once every 3-4 start.

I managed to record it on my phone and uploaded to YT as below:

It beeps shortly after the 1 second mark, followed by engine starting sound.

Any thought? Thanks in advance...

Go with your hunch and upgrade your battery with one bigger. An inch wider and taller should fit if you make some taller holdowns( what I did).
If the new batt doesn't get rid of beep , at least you'll have something with more oomph that won't give out if you listen to some music for 10 minutes with the parking lights on.
