Just bought a CPO stock 2010 Forester 2.5X with 29K miles.

I'm seeing 17-18MPG "city." This is basically 35-40MPH suburban 4 lane roads with minimal traffic during my driving.

and 22MPG highway @ 70-75 MPH.

It seems pretty low. Is something wrong with the car?

I don't think you're far off; I was able to get 26-27 hwy; but around town, esp. on short trips it was a veritable exxon valdez. 14-18 mpg usually.

Hmmm.. Interesting! It's also possible that I am driving a little heavy footed. I'm trying to get better at that :)

I've had my '10 for three months. My run-around milage is running a tad under 20 and my highway milage between 26 and 27. I'm a soft foot driver through.

Sounds a bit low

Hmmm, I seem to be doing a bit better. 2010 Premium X on summer blend fuel I avg. 22 mpg city and about 27 mph on extended highway trips. Drops way off on winter blend fuel (Mass. requires stations only sell winter blend) city drops to 19.2 and highway about 23 mpg. Both winter and summer blends contain 10% ethanol...again, only thing available in Mass. Yeah, I'm sorta OCD about checking fuel economy each fill up.
