I'm familiar with the scotty cocktail from nasioc, but i already have some fluid and if i can avoid buying more that would be wonderful. i have penzoil synchromesh and catrol hypoy-c. would 1 quart of synchro and the rest (2.5-2.8 quarts) being hypoy-c be a good combination? my transmission seems fine just really notchy, and hasnt had a fluid change in its life yet, so just looking for something safe that might offer marginal improvement in shifting. car is a 2006 forester xt with 5 speed manual. 120k miles :)

are you the same patrikman from the car lounge??

anyway the "uncle scotty" cocktail is a special mix of fluids that is supposed to make the shifting experience in our subie trannies much smoother. it has lots of positive feedback. i believe this is the exact recipe:

1qt Redline lightweight shockproof
1qt Pennzoil Synchromesh
2qt Castrol HypoyC 80w-90
