Hello all,

I've read the owner's manual and tried to follow the steps they've written to shut off the horn noise when you lock/unlock the doors (kinda annoying to me). I hold down the unlock and lock buttons on my keyless entry control at the same time, but it doesn't seem to work. Am I missing a step in there somewhere?

If your horn is honking when you arm/disarm, then you have an aftermarket (non Subaru) alarm installed by the dealer.
A factory alarm will only "chirp" (or beep).
My friend in NY had the same problem.
He had to take it back to the dealer and they sent him to the alarm installer, who was able to change this setting.
I'd b1tch to the dealer; they probably charged you full tilt for that aftermarket crap.
Most people don't know the difference; they count on that point.
Good luck.

(When did b1tch become a censored word?)

Unlocking trick

Some original & aftermarket systems switch into "silent"mode when you push both buttons. At te same time the driver's door must be open.

Good luck !
