Not sure if this is the correct section. But what is considered high mileage?
The misses is thinking about buying one for herself and has seen an '06 XTE for £8K but has done 95K miles so is a little put off, esp as our current one has also done 95K and I have just had to spend £1500 having some valves replaced and I still have a stall problem.

I did 145,000 hard miles in mine, no problem.
ten tenths on here dis 180,000 plus & I think his old Foz is still going.

Lots of the boys on here have done 150,000 plus with no problems apart from wear & tear, clutches etc, I got 123,000 miles out of my original clutch.

Regards

Heading for 110k on my MY03 XT and hoping to get 150k plus - somewhere on the web is a club for high mileage subarus - I think the minimum qualifying level is 150k.

270k is good going, wrcpulsar, you easily qualify ;o)

awesome. Think we will have to have a look at it and hopefully she sell's her car soon so we can get it. Anyone know what the gearbox life is? I've had no problems with mine so far and it appears to be going the same as when I bought the car all those years ago.

Heading towards 112.00 and after usual service items it's only needed a starter motor.

115,000. No major issues. I now have a slight whine from the autobox but nowt that will come and bite me in the bum when I am least expecting it! Even the SLS at the back is still performing within tolerance!

Key as with any marque is finding a reputable local specialist who won't charge you any more than a regular garage. Big up Sheffield Subaru Service! :)

Reading this thread, I don't think there are that many of us who have <100k miles by the sound of things! ;o)

Close on clocking up 155k miles on mine, 49k of which I have put on since Dec 2006.

Miles mean nothing, service history and bills are the important things. If it's been looked after properly, it'll be fine. The only things which seem to wear out with age are the parts with rubber in them.

I had a few Audi 100 and 200 Avants, none of them had less than 200,000 miles on the clock when I bought them with full service history and a pile of bills. The last one I had I sold with 287,000 miles on the clock, it had never had the head off, the factory tab was still in situ.

PS: I still haven't had to replace the clutch on my Foz yet

I must just be a bit unlucky :p
Had burnt valves at 90K and now got a leak on the crank oil seal?? or something along those lines. As long as I get another 100k I will be happy!
But would still buy another one as it's never let em down!!!

Main dealer told me of the NA Forester they service with 270,000, with nothing more than just servicing

and Zak Mocom has a wagon which has 170,000 and only dropped a valve cause it was a track car and got ragged everywhere
