Did you put the exact amount of fluid back in that came out? You said you added 4 quarts, but is that how much came out?
Yes, you are true that only about 1/3 of the fluid comes out when you drain it, which is why you just put the exact amount of fresh fluid in that came out when you drained it. Also, it takes about 3-4 drains changes over a month or two to dilute the fluid enough to the point where it's mostly new.
