so i changed my auto tranny fluid on my 09 forester but i think i might have overfilled. It is hard to see but i drained the fluid, then put in 4 quarts but i have been reading that when you drain this way only 1/3 gets taken out so i would have really overfilled. I dont quite know what to do. Any ideas?
I checked the oil itself and it seems hig but not sure by how much.....

Did you put the exact amount of fluid back in that came out? You said you added 4 quarts, but is that how much came out?

Yes, you are true that only about 1/3 of the fluid comes out when you drain it, which is why you just put the exact amount of fresh fluid in that came out when you drained it. Also, it takes about 3-4 drains changes over a month or two to dilute the fluid enough to the point where it's mostly new.
