Sorry for this perhaps stupid question, my first car and I am slowly inching towards more knowledge. I need to know if I got a 90kw or 92kw (122hp or 125hp) engine (I've narrowed it down as much).

My car is a Subaru Forester 2000 Automatic, Chassis number SF5-132225, Engine number: EJ20-B006770, I think 2.0, but these still come in 90kW and 92kW versions - so how do I tell what I own?

I need to know because I need to install a new radiator and all the spare-part sites distinguish between the two engine types...

No, it's not a stupid question. Call a dealer and have them put your VIN number into their parts system, and you'll be able to obtain the correct part number for your car. Then ask the spare part vendor you're dealing with to cross reference it.

paul...

Depends on date of manufacture. I believe the 2.0 was 90kW was until 8/1998, then 92kW afterwards. If in doubt get a dealer to look up your engine number.
