Well this is my first post but seemed like a member journal was the way to go. This is my second forester. Recently said goodbye to my first car a 99 forester, definitely hard to say goodbye.

So far I've installed a 2" lift, New wheels and tires, and painted the calipers. Got a lot in the works for this thing, excited to share them as they come.

Also wanted to share the old rig, tons of memories with this thing but at 250k it was time to look for something a little newer.

Installed a 1" subtle solutions lift to this thing back in highschool. I decided to go to the dark side with the new cars paint color... So far I'm super happy with it but it definitely shows the dirt faster.

I've probably read every single exhaust thread on this entire forum, watched at least ten youtube video sound comparisons and still couldn't decide what the hell to throw on the new rig. Well I guess I knew I didn't want the stock set up. After a few weeks of gut wrenching back and forth It came down to deciding between the 18" Magnaflow and 14" Magnaflow.

Ended up throwing the 14" Magnaflow on while keeping the stock resonator intact (can always rip it off or replace it later, If I want a little more roar). Overall I'm Incredibly happy with the outcome, I was really just looking to deepen the exhaust note without a huge increase in the loudness of the system. Its definitely louder but in my opinion tastefully so and is just one more thing to make the car subtly stand out without being hugely overbearing. I played around with the idea of swapping to UEL headers but couldn't quite stomach the loss in engine efficiency. That being said driving a car that's not 20 years old makes this thing already feel like a huge upgrade.

Heres a before and after video of the cold start between the two systems. I'll get around to getting some recordings with some revs of the new exhaust, just haven't had time in the last few days while having a warmed up engine.

Well all those nice LED C-lights on the nicer models finally got to me. This was a quick and cheap little upgrade with a big aesthetic impact. Upgraded the stock C-light bulbs to 210 lumen Diode Dynamics LEDs. They still aren't quite as striking as the full on LED c-lights but its a hell of a lot closer than the stock halogens.

You get a lot better idea of the output differences between the bulbs by looking at the first two pictures of the bulbs pulled out of the housings. Camera contrast changes make the difference in the c-light look not huge but in real life its a solid change!

I just did the 18" MF on my 06, and LOVE it. Such a great sound. And with the HF filter, it made a huge difference. That and the new engine...

Man I keep seeing 19 sports, and wrxs around... really can't decide. I really want more power, and Wr blue... Come on subaru! haha
Love the forester though. It's such a great blend of car!
