I'm assuming I need an oil pressure sensor replacement, but just wanted to poll the group in case I'm overlooking something.

My 2014 Forester has had a recurring "Check Oil / Low Oil" message for a few weeks now, even though I have changed and then checked the oil. The levels are normal. I do think the car burns some oil, (not a ton) but that's not the issue here, because I've confirmed the oil levels are fine. Could it be a faulty sensor? Anything else? Thanks!

Could be a faulty sensor. Is it the red oil light or the yellow light? Yellow indicates low oil volume. Red indicates low oil pressure. Which is very, very bad.

It's the Yellow light. Doesn't come on every single time we drive the car, but probably 40-50% of the time. It's due for inspection soon, and I'm wondering if the faulty sensor could cause it to fail inspection.

Sort of doubt that, after all, what's a Subaru low on oil . . . . :surprise:

but I would get it addressed soon, because you don't want it to be yours.
