Car – MY03 Forester XT (155kw) OZ spec 180000km
Initially I wanted the car for both performance and off road so had it mapped to accommodate boost to 1.1bar (95 pump). Now priorities have changed so use it more as a family runaround and run with the EBC off so boost is governed by the actuator (+-0.4bar). if I use low boost (0.8 bar) I get FLKC as boost peaks at say 3000rpm but not higher in the rev range. Obviously with more boost the problem is more pronounced.
What is confusing is that when running with EBC (HKS) off (0.4 bar) I have noticed that the IAM drops, even when driving very gently (low engine loads) so just feathering the throttle and no WOT at all. Any ideas where to look for a problem? As the map is for 1.1 bar one would think that running 0.4 should be super safe and never see IAM drop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
