Dear all,

2005 forester 2.0 X All weather in question.

Had a smell of burning before the Offside (left) headlight went out, replaced the bulb and works fine in High beam just not low. I changed the fuses as well but still not that. The headlight cable has burn marks, so I guess I need a new one right? If so where the best place to get a cheapy? UK based

Melted connectors are not uncommon in Foresters of that vintage. Look for distortion around the contacts.

Replacements, often with higher temperature ratings, should be available at auto parts stores.

Here's an example. Quite likely a different connector from yours, but the same principle.

Thanks, that looks like the problemo, will splice a new one in.
