Dear group,

I am looking to get a Forester for myself. I have a diesel powered Jetta that is stick and I am in heavy traffic every day and the cluth and I no longer maintain our once solid love affair.
That being said I am searching for Forester for myself. I have about $9,500 I can spend. What years do I want to stay away from? What years are pretty good? Do I ONLY want to look at 2004 and newer or some older models still reliable?
:bling:My wife has a 99 Forester and I see a few 2001 with about 150K on them for $5,000 and a few 2003-2005 Foresters with about 117K on them for $8995.

'03 & newer have less head gasket issues, but there's no guarantee it won't happen. :frown:

Perhaps you can find a nice low mile earier model, with service history. If over 105K miles, it should have had the timing belt replaced. :wink:
