To all our suspension gurus:

Has anyone used this suspension combination?

or

Has any thoughts on the suitability?

I have read that the Forester specific GR2s are stiffer than stock by 15%.
Is this likely to make for a bouncy ride whan paired with the JDM Forester STi pink springs?

I have the GR2s, but for WRX application, and really like my investment. I had the bounce effect using stock WRX wagon springs but my new Swift srings cancelled that.

The higher spring rates on the JDM Forester STi springs would be a nice setup with the Forester specific GR2s IMHO. As long as you are not using stock springs. The GR2s would work well with many aftermarket springs out there. You can be the first and let us all know

Does anyone know if there are SG-specific GR2's, and if so, where to source them or what the part numbers are?

Those are KYB-AGX's that seem to be WRX-specific, but fit the FXT.

Correct Part number for SG KYB GR2s are 334342, 334343, 334344, 334345

3344370 and 334371 are used for vehicles with self leveling rear.

These are listed for 2003 but struts are the same across SG lineup from 2003-2005 according to ALL DATA.

I have not purchase from this vendor so you may want to call to inquire. I tried to source SG applications awhile back but had no luck. No one have it in stock - despite what the vendors' website list.

Thanks, tre... However, if I go through the vehicle fit guide and punch in 2004 Forester XT, it tells me that I need the part numbers 334370 and 334371 for the fronts. Part numbers 334342 and 334343 return a "no fit" for the 04 FXT, but seem to fit all 03 models, so I'm assuming there was a slight change for the fronts from MY03 to MY04.

FWIW , the GR-2's are no longer offered in europe for the SF or SG . The Excel-G has replaced the GR-2 - but the part numbers for the SG still match

Yes. Change was only to the front spring perch design but struts essentially are the same. The SG GR2s should still be a bolt on swap. See it like this - I installed the same JDM F-STi pinks on my 03 X as you did on your 04 XT. That tells you something. And I have seen all the different X, XS, and XT suspension parts. All the same. KYB part numbers applications usually run in sequence.

Resurrecting an older thread to ask some related questions....

Is it safe to assume that the 2006 FXT has the same suspension parts as the 2004? I ask because I emailed KYB to get the correct part numbers for the 2006 FXT (Based on this thread I was confused whether to get 334342, 334343 or 334370, 334371 for the fronts.) Well I got a reply from KYB that they don't have struts for the 2006.....lot of help they were.

I'm guessing the valving may be different but design is essentially the same. The OEM Catalog on www.subarugenuineparts.com has the 03-05 struts listed together and the 2006 is listed separately. Hopefully Roo, Hondaslayer, or Subiegal can confirm with part numbers or other information since they work at Subaru dealerships.

I bet my money that the 03-05 strut/springs/tophats will bolt right up to an 06. I wouldn't be surprise if the tophats are still the same.

On the same subject, I have stock 04 sti springs waiting...
Really looking at the KYB struts...
My question is, are these all drop ins or do I need new top hats??

I dont like this combo.
I tried the gr-2 with jdm sti pink springs for fxt and the ride was really harsh,
very bumpy.
When installed those springs with sti struts the ride was awesome.
. Those springs are really stiff fir the gr2s
