Hello all,
My wife’s car has had a knocking noise from the front for a long time now. We used to live in VT and there I changed the front struts thinking that would help which it didn’t. Also, the sway bar end links have been changed for the heavy duty greasable aftermarket ones which didn’t help either. We now live in MI (and the roads are just as bad) and last week I replaced the front sway bar bushings which did help quite a bit but it didn’t cure the noise completely. I am now wondering if it is the bushings in the lower control arms. Has anyone found a fix for this before I spend $$ on new arms and am disappointed again? I tried moving the control arm at the rear mount with a pry bar but I couldn’t see anything obvious. The car has 200K miles on it with no rust and runs well so it is worth fixing IMO.
Thanks in advance

At 200k miles you should change them regardless. That's a lot of mileage if they were never changed. Most of your bushings are probably shot.
