my girlfriend just bought a 2004 forester about 4 months ago. recently the check engine light came on. we had the code scanned by a mechanic and he said it was the knock sensor and wanted $200.00 to fix it. me, being a car guy(hondas though for me) i said we'd just take care of it. i've found a good post on here about changing it and feel confident that i can do it....looks only a smidge harder than changing a taillight. my question now is, is one brand better than another when it comes to a knock sensor? they range in price from ~$65.00 to ~$145.00. my local autozone has a duralast with a 2 year warranty for $80.00. i'm assuming that they are all pretty much the same thing, but when it comes to me fixing her car....i just don't want it to go bad in a year and her think i messed something up. anyways....super long post for a simple question....thanks in advance.
