Hi, i own a 1997 Japanese spec forester turbo and found out in the snow we had that my car was only driving in fwd. Upon inspection of the auto box by removal of the propshaft and the rear casing of the autobox the larger of the drive cogs has split from its rear assembly leaving it with no drive to the rear wheels. I have noticed no unusual noises since owning the car for the last year.
I was just wondoring if anyone knows what could have caused this to break and if it is best to just replace the entire box or go through the motions of changing the drive cog for a new item.
Cheers for any help.

Dan
