Hi:

I am interested in throwing a keyless entry control unit in my '98 forester to replace the regular Door Lock Timer. My question is, because it seems to be very difficult to locate an OEM keyless entry unit for a '98, would a control unit designed for an 01/02 (that I see on ebay) work in a '98 or no such luck? They physically look very similar was just wondering.

I would also be interested to know if someone wants to sell theirs or if anyone knows some website that carries them still.

thats a really good question. but i dont know myself. if i find it i will let you know i'd love my 98 to have a keyless entry.

im pretty sure subaru didnt sell foresters with keyless entry until the MY2000 but dont quote me on it. i was looking around on subaru tech info for someone else and i couldnt get any results for keyless entry until i got up to 2000 (started at 98) his was aftermarket
