I've checked the K & N website, but there was no part # listing for the oil filter for my 2003 XS (only the air filter was listed). Anybody have the correct part number? Or perhaps K & N does not make the oil filter for the 03 FXS?

I don't think K&N makes one specifically for your model. I don't see why a WRX, STi or FXT filter won't work for you unless the external shape keeps it from fitting right due to it hitting some engine component.

I will keep checking sites for part numbers. Also, I know www.boxer4racing.com sells one filter specifically for the Impreza, legacy, forester, and baja ...you can call them and ask.

This was stated for all '04-'05 foresters so I think this filter would be your best bet.

I noticed that part number too sirwilliam (I was just a bit hesitant because it did not mention the 2003 model year specifically......but I know the engine is the exact same so that must me the correct one). Thanks for your research.

After stumbling across one of Peaty's postings on the Subi Outback site, I think the Hp-1008 is for the turbo engines......the HP-1004 is the correct number for the NA H4's.

I got the new Amsoil Ea0 filter (Ea020) for $11.50.
