I bought my Forester back in August 2009. This is my first car and I love it. It is a 2001 Forester L, naturally aspirated with 62,000 miles on it at the date of purchase. The previous owners were an elderly couple and they kept great care of the Forester. I've been working throughout high school to make payments on my car. I just recently graduated from high school and don't plan on getting rid of the foz until it dies.

It's been a great learning experience so far. I have never worked on a car before purchasing this. So far, I've managed to do everything by myself so far. It's both fun and frustrating learning about cars. The forester has treated me well so far up here in Alaska, and I hope to enjoy it for many years to come.

This is what the interior looks like with the footwell lighting and dash illumination.

Rain Guards installed

18'' TRMotorsport C2 on LM25 Blizzaks

The 2 12'' Planet Audio. I picked up the 2 12s, Alpine Deck, Insignia Amp, Rockford Fosgate Wiring Kit, and Installation from a friend for $350. He couldn't afford his rent and had to sell a bunch of his stuff. I felt bad buying them from him for so cheap, but I didn't want to pass up the great deal.

The Alpine eX-10 iPod controller/Bluetooth Kit. My brother bought me this for Christmas. It's a neat little gadget, and I enjoy the handsfree talking via BlueTooth.

wrx rear sway bar will help with the body roll and shouldn't cost you too much either.

Thanks Telemarker. They were actually really cheap because they are an unknown company.
I'd also be interested to see how you did your footwell lights, I like that alot! Did you take any pics of the install?

I don't have any pictures of the install, but it was a pretty simple installation.

I ordered the LED strips from lexenauto on eBay. The strips come with a 3M back to stick to the surface. You have to remove the paneling from the emergency brake and pop off the center console plastic. Then I wired both of the LEDs to the back of my cigarette lighter and secured the earth wires around two screws on my deck. The whole process took about 15 minutes.

The car looks great, nice job.

Where did you get those rain guards? I'd love to add those to my SF. Also, if you want a WRX rear sway bar, check the NASIOC classifieds. I got mine from there for about 40 bucks, there's plenty to find too.

Thanks. I got the rain guards from My Car Worx .

I'll be sure to take a look at NASIOC.

Another small mod done to the car. Nothing special, but I like it. Ordered an interior light kit from YourLEDShop. It was shipped quickly to Alaska (rarely happens) and was simple to install. Plug and play. It came with a total of 2 map lights, 1 Dome Light, 1 Trunk Light, 2 License plate lights, and a mini keychain flashlight.

I was getting tired of the dull yellow lights in my car when I was trying to find stuff in the dark. These really brightened up the car. The trunk light isn't very practical, but I liked the blue and went with it.

Sharp SF,love the interior lighting.
Thanks. I have a lot of people tell me it feels like they are in a space ship haha.

Wow...that's bright!
They actually are a bit brighter in the picture because I used a longer exposure time on my camera. But they are still pretty bright in real life.

Nice SF, wish I'd known about those rain guards when I still had mine. Also +1 on the LED lighting, might need to do that soon (especially since my main cabin light is out yet again)
Thanks. It was hard finding rain guards for the Forester since they have to be custom made for our car. They come in handy though.
