So i bought my car in september of 2009. it hasnt been long, but i love the car more and more each day. the day i bought my xt i went right home and ordered a kartboy short throw shifter and bushings. the next week i picked up an spt intake and a magnaflow muffler off of someone on nasioc. the intake went on right away, and the muffler didnt get welded up until this past week . i didnt buy anything for a little while until the beginning of january. i got some used 04 sti struts and springs, with brand new oem sti strut mounts. also in january, on our voyage up for the 48 hours we stopped in yonkers, ny and i picked up some gold enkei rpf1's 17x8, with 255/40/17 dunlop dz101's. the car ended up sitting around mad at me for not modding it for a little bit, so when i got my tax return in the middle of february i went a little overboard. whiteline swaybars front and back, new sti takeoff lateral links, kartboy endlinks, the rear wing (finally), kartboy rear bushings, and a kartboy light weight crank pully. when everything gets here ill post pictures of it all on the car. also my friend bought me an sti tmic as a thank you for being the one to drive for the 48hrs  so thats sitting in my box at work waiting for a bigger turbo.

9/23/09: about a week after i bought the car. tags came in, i was debadged as of the second day i had the car. bought some STi decals for the front doors, and a tuned by STi badge to cover the holes from "forester" also, put in hella supertones, mudflaps, and painted the grill black. the intake and short throw were also on by here.

1/3/10: boost gauge bought and installed. its a prosport. white when the lights are off and green when they go on.

2/27/10: the car as of late. with all of the snow we've been getting here in jersey, i took off the enkei's and put my stockers and all seasons back on. painted black though. ill get a picture soon. p.s. this is with the sti struts and springs and 1/4" saggy butt shims.

I have the same car down to the color, which I bought at the end of January. Ive gone a bit crazy on mods since then. I can confidently say that you are going to LOVE the extra power that comes with a VF** upgrade with supporting mods, and that the 04 STi steering rack is a night and day difference. The road feel is drastically improved, and you get actual feedback from the wheel rather than an ambiguous sense of nothingness.

How are you liking the STi struts? Let's see some pics!

the sti struts are great, id like to go with a little bit stiffer springs, but well see. i dont need to be any lower, my mud flaps hit on a lot of stuff ahah. ill update with some pictures in the first post so show some progress.

*update*
2/26/10 started a little opensource stage 2ish tune. were going slow on it but last night i changed up my map a bit. kept the stock fueling, and timing. and upped my boost to 12.8psi and adjusted my wastegate duty cycle. just that little bit extra was a drastic improvement over the stock map. well be spending today 2/27/10 tuning. hopefully by the end of the day ill have a nice safe 14.5-15psi map. and the kids from my town already thought my car was unusually fast for a wagon.. :evilatyou:

2/27/10: finished the tune for the most part. hitting 14psi at about 4,000rpm. the tune is pretty conservative, noting too insane. but its quick enough for me. i can pull on my friends lgt a little bit. hes just got a full turbo back. were tuning his car next.

3/2/10: finally got the lateral links on. and threw in the kartboy rear diff/outrigger bushings and endlinks while i had the car in the air. the swaybars arent on yet because i forgot to order new brackets ahah. just ordered a set of sti brackets from chaplin subaru so hopefully they wont take too long to come in. even with just the lateral links endlinks and bushings, the rear end of the car feels a lot more together. acceleration feels a lot smoother, as does everything in general. we have some more tweaking for my tune this week and were going to atco this weekend for test and tune night. i hope im at least in the 13s haha

i finally got some pictures of my latest mods that i didnt have so enjoy!

subtle heat shield and chimney installed

2006 STi intercooler installed, and finally a decent engine bay shot!

sullivan racing pyramid pedal set installed

2005 STi rear lateral links and Whiteline 22mm solid swaybar. front 24mm whiteline swaybar installed also, just no picture. and kartboy endlinks all around

interior shot. prosport boost gauge, cb radio right by the drivers seat, and momo shift knob. minus the momo.

its been a longgg long time since ive updated this. ive been busy with work and car meets and some autocrossing. since my last post, ive installed a vf43, walbro 255, ebay catch can, and an act heavy duty pressure plate/clutch setup. im running around on a limp tune for now, just on open wastegate so max boost is about 13psi. when im tuned i should be hitting just about 300. ive probably done a few other small things but everything has been so busy lately i dont even remember. but those are the biggies! when i get up to CT for the tune, ill get some videos on the dyno and some roads around there ripping around with the gopro.

im not going to EFI for it, STi Mikey (phatbotti tuning) is going to do it for me, he said hes been working on a shops dyno on nights and weekends. i still have to figure a day to come up though. ill take an early day from work and head up at like noon, and just hangout for the day, tune at night, and stay over for the night to hit up some of the local roads with the gopro  im pretty sure hes been working at THESHOP in Norwalk, but im not positive. its only 20 miles south of efi..

did some opensourcing on the car today. hitting 18psi at 3800rpm, tapering down to 15psi by redline. 10.0 afr's. not too bad for now. i might be picking up an ewg setup before getting my protune, and hopefully this week i can pick up my coilovers

so its been a while, yet again.

updates on the car are a tial 38mm EWG set up, protuned at Akuma Motorsports LLC by the infamous John Shafer. my injectors maxed out so im stuck with 19psi, which still pulls very healthy. if anyone lives in the tristate area and wants to get tuned eventually, i would strongly recommend Akuma, and for me it was only an hour away, located in central jersey, not too far from englishtown.

the car made 260whp and 265wtq on their lower reading mustang dyno. videos should be up soon, as soon as i edit them and shorten them up.
