Just got a couple of official Subaru bumper corner modlings to use on the back of my '19, only to find a sticker on plastic bag saying the instuctions are only available at stis.subaru.com, where it costs $35 just to have access for three days. Anyone have docs for these? Looks like just wipe the car with the included wipe, then pull the tape from the glue strips. But it would be good to know exact positioning recommendations, temperature range in which to apply them, and the like.

Charging to read online what they could have sent on a single piece of paper is dumb business. People are going to like your cars better if everyone's more fully informed on maintaining them. Limiting that information flow just undercuts the brand. You lose more in car sales than you gain selling the manuals.

Thanks, Keith's gardener. Helpful. Now I've finally got a use for the heat gun I bought years ago, before deciding to replace rather than melt the lead paint off old window sashes.

How does a person navigate to the free parts of the manual site. The entry page seems to say the only way in is to buy an account.

Click on the top menu option - Online Reference. You then have the option to enter your VIN, or Model, Year, Trim or search by keyword. Select the drop down menu options under Publication Type if using the VIN search method.

The instructions I found were updated to include the 19 Forester. Location shown was for front edge to be 1 inch back from black area that goes around wheel opening, and bottom edge to be 2 inches above lower black area. It is difficult or impossible to maintain that 2 inches as you get to the back and it wraps around since the corner is not vertical. The back end will go up a little.
