Just come back from a short break in Iceland and have say there are a lot of Foresters over there.
I knew that they were popular in Canada, but their drive ability is also prized there as we'll.
We did a fortnights fly-drive there back in 2007. Went in the September and it was pretty quiet - it was a bit late in the season for the regular tourists which was good as we were able to get around and see the sights without the usual crowds. We'd been given a set schedule and on some days had upwards of 300 miles to cover between one hotel and the next but there was so little traffic, it still gave time to stop and catch the sights. There were occasions when you could travel 2-3 hours without even seeing another car on the road!
Had an Octavia 4x4 diesel which coped pretty well - if we'd gone farther inland, we'd have needed a Shogun or equivalent. Saw a few Imprezas; didn't have the Forester at that time so wasn't probably looking for them.
Great country though, worth the journey, although expensive as virtually everything is imported. Not sure how prices compare now given their economic troubles of a few years ago.
Oh yes, Suzi Perry was on our flight out
