I went and got myself the Subi paint to try and make a bad scratch on the side look less obvious, but am unsure how to prep the area before I put the paint on.
I am also curious if I should put it on in slow day by day layers or what.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue! :mob:

I`ve found that the touch up actually sometimes makes things worse.

You can find some good info in this thread

I`ve used the Langka product on a previous foz (big scratch on the hood due to an ice scraper:chair:) and it does an ok job (better than just touch up for sure), but it isn't perfect. I did not want to spend the $$ for a paint job or risk making things worse by doing it myself, so that product was a good compromise.

Anyone tried the Quixx product mentioned in the above thread?

are we talking scratch or gouge? thick scratches (getting keyed) are very hard to fill. touch up paint only really works well on chips. if its a thin scratch, i personally would wet sand it with 2000grit, polish with meguairs #4 cut, polish with #2 cut, sealer/glaze, and finally carnuba. the wet sand will take the sharp jagged edge off of the scratch. the polish will take the scratches that the sand paper left behind.
