I was out today at one of the local Porsche and Techart dealer, speaking with a client and as i'm leaving I get in the car and a man comes running over who's been looking at the cars on the dealers lot.

He comes over and knocks on the window, so I wind down the window and say "hello" he starts to speak and says " Love the car, what is it and is it for sale?" So I tell him what it is and where its from and whats been done to it and again he says "are you sure its not for sale?"

got his card just in case I reconsider, but I cant work out why someone who's looking at £100K porsches and range rovers wants a 13 year old forester!

LoL thats weird :)

Maybe he searched for something special... something thats not seen on every corner...

At least here in austria, foresters (especially turbos) are very rare! If they are tuned and modded they are even more rare!!

I know half a dozen foresters that are tuned and modded which are also present in a german(austrian) forum... And since i am driving through the whole country for business i haven´t seen much of them!

Maybe that´s why that man asked you ;)

If I'd just looked at a Cayenne too closely I guess I would consider buying almost anything else in preferance!

Myabe, or got that looked aweful my look at that handsome piece of automotive architecture, I wonder if he'll sell! Silly you really, if he can afford a Cayenne, he might be ripe for a decent sales price! Probably assumed it was private plated!

Should have sold it to him for £100K...

Simon, what's it mean to be private plated? Another silly UK thing we don't have here.

Vanity plates - rather than those denoting year of manufacturer. Cost from $750 > lots and lots.

I always think 'vanity plate' is more accurate than the euphamistic 'private plate' or official 'cherished number'.

If you don't sell him yours would you give him my number and he can have a look at mine, it's undoubtedly slower than yours and has less character but is a beautiful top the range example?

What more could I say Simon, but YOU WOULD :chair:

:icon_biggrin: Probably, but then the wife got me to transfer the plate from her Celica to the RX-8 so who am I to talk - but then my wife is vane, she always demands a good looking bloke to escort her round, a job I feel I am qualified to perform well! :Banane17:

Strangely, I had a bloke ask me if I wanted to swap the Forrie for his car. Which was an unbelievably barried 01 Unimpreza wrx. I politely declined, mumbling something about not being able to insure it. The mates I was with couldnt believe that I'd just said no to an Unimpreza. Apparently Unimprezas are the best cars of EvAR, even when covered in badly fitting plastic tat from China (Designed for for a skyline.) Then rattle canned blue on the owners driveway. And Forries are 'Farmers cars.'
