Hi, I have 2 keys for the 2011 Forester base model. One is the full function that I can open locks electronically. The other is a "plain key" with no electronics, maybe a "valet" key?
When I use the plain key to unlock, the horn blows, lights flash. BUT, not always. Hard to figure.
First question= I would like to disable the alarm function entirely so that I can use the plain key to unlock the door without entertaining those around me. Can this be done?
Second question, I would like to get a second "plain" key that is flat, or that I can bust off the thick plastic so I can keep an emergency key in wallet without a big bulge?
