You don't honestly think I want that number floating around where my wife might be able to see it.

I prefer to eat solid food ;)

Just some mats, cargo cover, auto start and a suction cup so far in the Scooby so I'm getting off pretty easy so far.

I put about 8000.00 in my Titan for performance mods and that is naturally aspirated so I don't want to think what the Foz will cost me when I begin getting more adventurous with it because I really liked the Dakar version, lol.

yeah no.. this isn't a fun game.
I've learned from previous project cars;
drive them, enjoy them, don't count $$..

At the three year mark (4 months ago) I tallied up my mod costs, so I think this is an interesting thread. Adding in what I've done since then...

Total = $3040 minus $700 (money from old parts resold) = $2340.

In addition to this I also cashed in $1500 in Subaru bucks for various parts, but about $400 of that was maintenance parts, the other $1100 STi and other OEM mods. All paid cash, no credit, no mod debt. Very important fact to mention, I would never put mods on credit, it is a want, not a need. No cash up front = no mods, that is why I've modded very slowly but surely.

So, my cost to mod is $58.50 per month. Better than a new car payment, and modding has helped me to not grow bored of my car!

If I factor in BOTH Foresters I own, it is a scary number. I've replaced the seats and audio systems in both, have winter and summer wheels/tires for both, done tons of utility mods to the X and a lot of performance mods to the XT.

I don't think I want to know the total but I'm sure I could buy a nice used SF for what I've spend on both cars.

To me..Vehicles are such a waste of money that I just don't put anything into them other then what is required to keep them 100% reliable. Fortunately few people feel the way I do. :D

I have a spread sheet at home, it helps me keep it in perspective and from going overboard. I'll post it up later.

I have never bought mods on credit either. I avoid charging anything I can not pay at the end of the month. Don't fall into this trap, it's so not worth it.

I'm the same way. I've always paid cash. Actually the forum has bought most my mods. I sell sub kits/spacer and use those profits to mod my car!

Too much to justify with my low power numbers and high track times ...
