Formulas I've read about are:

1lb of rotational mass reduced or lost = to roughly 10lbs of vehicle weight removed.
Every 100lbs of vehicle weight removed = 0.100 of a second in the 1/4 mile.

So, if you went from 53lbs to 43lbs tire/wheel combo, it'd be like loosing 400lbs of vehicle weight, potentially good for 0.400 improvement in 1/4 mile times. Bench racing FTW! :icon_biggrin:

I believe it. Going from 25 lb wheels to 18 lb wheels felt like adding a bunch of power!

Was swapping wheels around so I busted out the digital scale for exact weights.

Have to say, the Rota DPT 17x9 wheel is impressively light given its size. Makes my Gforce wheels look heavy even with smaller tires.

Rota Gforice 17x8 + Bridgeston RE01R 245/45/17
47.2lbs

Rota DPT 17x9 + Toyo RA1 255/40/17
43.2lbs

Rota DPT 17x9 + Toyo R888 235/40/17
40.2lbs

WRX OEM 16x6.5 + Toyo G02+ 216/60/16 winter tires
39.7lbs

:icon_eek: Good thing you have all that power!!!
I know. between the weight and the width switching from winter to summer makes my gas mileage go way down

Formulas I've read about are:

1lb of rotational mass reduced or lost = to roughly 10lbs of vehicle weight removed.
Every 100lbs of vehicle weight removed = 0.100 of a second in the 1/4 mile.

Todd, still not as much as vinny's set-up. You'll be in right around 50lbs as the FSTi wheels are 26lbs each.
