How are you tinting your windows on 19 Sport?

I just purchased a 2019 Forester Sport. The back windows are privacy glass but the front driver and passenger are untinted. I trying to decide between tinting just the fronts to match the rear privacy glass and tinting all windows.

The tint shop uses Solargard and we recently did my wifes 19 camry in their ceramic Vortex IR 25% line and I love the look. Today the tint shop said to match the rears on the Forester they would recommend using 25% also, however if I only do the front in ceramic than I dont really gain any of the ceramic benefits, since the majority of the windows are just privacy glass. I also thought about doing the whole SUV in 25% but that would basically make the rears Limo tint and thats way darker than I want. Unfortunately the lightest % tint in the Solrgard Vortex IR line is 45%.

So, im interested in what yall are doing for tint and would love to see pics if you have them.

Thanks!

I drive at night, in the rain and blizzards, so I chose to add clear Crystalline to the sunroof, windshield and front side windows, reducing the solar gain by half, while reducing glare by 22%. All without degrading my night vision.

@RawLand. I too do a lot of nighttime driving and do not want to reduce outward visibility. You have convinced me that CR70 is what I need on my driver and passenger side windows, but I have a question about the effectiveness of doing the moonroof. With the sun shade closed, does the CR70 film really keep any heat out of the cabin from the moonroof?

In the summer I keep the sun shade closed, covering the sun roof. I added the 3M Crystalline for the spring/fall in the hot south and soon Las Vegas.

The OEM tint on the other rear windows doesn't perform anywhere as well as the Crystalline film, but between dogs and cost, I left them uncovered.
If you think about it, the greatest amount of solar energy comes in the two windows looking upward. Windshield and sun roof. The sun roof has a shade. Crystalline on the windshield is like a clear sunshade which improves vision by reducing glare by 22%.

Adding Crystalline to the front side windows takes care of the morning and afternoon sun, especially at altitude and the hot southern states.

Reducing the most powerful frequencies of infrared light, and all the UV, benefits our skin and eyes.

No issues, in fact driving at warp speed in a desert monsoon, with NeverWet on the windshield, EyeSight worked fine without error.
@RawLand love your setup! If you don’t mind will you tell me what size tires and lift you are running?

Thanks!
@RawLand pm sent

I couldnt find your tire size listed. Thanks!

@Albert Dam So just to be clear, you have 15% on your front windows and also applied 15% over your rear factory privacy tinted windows? The tint looks great!

I have an appointment booked for 2 weeks from today for my windows to be tinted and I think im going with Solar Gard Vortex ceramic tint with 25% on the fronts and 45% on the rears.... but yours looks awesome with the same % all around.

I added the 3M Crystalline 40 to my sunroof today and love it. Still lets in sunlight, but the heat is significantly reduced, quite comfortable actually.
I ended up going with Solar Gard Vortex IR Ceramic 25% on fronts and 45% over all privacy glass. windshield and sunroof are not tinted.

I went with 20% on the moonroof and 35% on the front doors. Just a shade lighter than the stock rears.

We're not tinting the new Forester, but in the past we've used 70% ceramic up front, 35% rear.

70% times the 80% in-glass factory tint yields 56% up front, meeting the Ohio 50% minimum for front door glass. Some State Police here have tint meters.
