Lately I've been smelling a hot rubber scent inside the cab of my XT. It becomes apparent when it is just sitting in one spot while idling. Has anyone else noticed this? Or know what I might be smelling?

Thanks.

Is there any grease on the passengers side of the firewall in the engine bay? If there is, look at the CV joint on you passenger side. Cracked CV joints tend to splatter grease on the exhaust and firewall. The exhaust burning the grease does the smell.

Good luck!

Who does your oil changes??

Either lack of a oil crush ring, loose filter/drain plug, leaking filter,cvj/doj boot leak, or bag on exhaust.
