Hi all,

I have a 2005 Forester X with the 5 speed manual. With the colder weather here, my subie has developed some annoying traits. The once the car comes up to temperature, and the HVAC system is on, it will tend to rev up (sometimes over 4000 rpm) when the clutch is depressed or the car is in neutral and eventually fall back to idle. I've tried many settings (defrost, floor, vents, hot, cold, etc) and they all seem to do the same. If I shut off the HVAC system, the problem seems to subside. After it's been up to temp for the a while the problem usually goes away too. Some days are worse than others. I have scoured several forums and have seen others with this issue, but I've never come across a reason why or a fix. Has anyone come across this issue and the fix?

Thanks in advance!
