When my headlight switch is set to automatic, I cannot pull it back to turn on the hi-beam. I can flash hi-beam intermittently, but not permanently. Is this normal?

The only way I can turn on the hi-beams is to turn the switch to manual operation and then I can pull back the switch to turn the hi-beam on.

This is probably in the manual but this forum is much quicker !! thanks..

Because on automatic setting it is high beam assist? High beams will come on automatically when your ride feels like it

That is what is happening, (I have hi-beam assist) but I'd like to be able, even if it is the "assist" mode go to hi-beam.... guess I can't except for briefly. I read through about 3-4 pages in the manual, but it doesn't seem to be addressed in a way I can understand....
