Hi all having the FSTi remapped is it worth having the exhaust changed?
Nothing wrong with the sti one but i would like a bit more burble , not to bothered about power gains but more throttle response and mpg as the wife uses it every day for work.
( im allowed to drive it at the weekend  )
The car has just had the BIG serviced cambelt , pullys, plugs, k&n filter, fluids the works. What do we think?

Aren't Hayward and Scott near you? They would make a lovely pipe for you and make the sound level to your taste. You don't want drone on a long run.

Do you have the standard system in its entirety at present?

New backbox will help with the exhaust note, centre section with the volume. The standard FSTi centre section has a resonator and a cat, so it definitely quietens things down.

My car is pretty subtle. I have a Prodrive backbox and the standard centre section.

Second decat and backbox and a remap will bring the burble and some more torque out :)

Phil had/has(?) an original centre section for sale a while ago and although very rare I think the market is very limited.
Keep it instead of giving it away but then again if you never plan to put it back to standard, better to get something from it even very little and make some space in the shed.
Who is mapping the car btw?

Yep, i did sell the original FSTi exhaust system several months ago to a member on here who adapted it for his XT ...certainly took a while to sell and as you say Fivo's, a very limited if not non existent market as most owners will eventually mod their system!

Bob Rawle for Re-map!

If you're not bothered about power gains, a nice back box from Ian at Hayward and scott is just what you need, a few BHP will potentially occur, but the noise it what you're really after.

R.G.S motorsport is my local garage they done the big service for me, but Zen performance is just up the road from me ?
They both reckon about £500 this includes the licence ?
