Greetings! My wife and I are the happy new owners of a new 2019 Forester Base. We both retired this year (my second retirement), and plan to do a lot of traveling the next 10 years. After looking at several comparable mid-size SUVs, we drove the Forester and were very impressed. After driving other models, our common reply was, "That wasn't as nice as the Forester." Plus, they had one in green (Jasper Green), which has always been my wife's favorite color. Dealer gave us a great price off sticker (surprising for a new model) plus we got the 7yr/100K Gold Plus warranty for half price (since the Subaru Military Rebate is only good for 1 year after retirement).
Going back in a few days to have the body side molding put on before the first door ding. :surprise: Next will be rear window tinting.
Love the great visibility with large windows. Everything else seems like a WWII bunker. Smooth, quiet, plenty of power, comfortable.
Our only hesitation was the annoying stop-start feature. After reading this forum, we discovered that you can start it up, push the button above your left knee, and it's off until you park and shut it off. Only takes a second. Eezie-Peezie. Took a second test drive with it off and it was nice!
Hope to learn a lot about the car here, and maybe eventually share some wisdom down the road.
