May I ask why you want to import a USDM forester? It strikes me as odd seeing Europe gets a wider array of prime, more desirable machinery from Japan. My advice would be to locate an online forum much like this one, which is dedicated to the car you're looking for. There you'll find the most well kept examples owned by enthusiasts.
May I ask if you want to import one or many more US version Subaru into UK?
You must consider LEFT / RIGHT handed steering. The light housings are aimed differently as well.
The cheapest you can find is EBay or Craiglist but quality are not as good as Subaru dealers' but dealer price is known to be high.
