Not to derail too much, but around here 300whp on pump gas will not happen with a VF48 safely. Don't aim for highest possible number, these are street cars and power should be left on the table for sake of longivity. Ring lands and tranny are what you need to keep in mind.

I most definitely don't want to stress any part of my car. Shooting for 270whp should be safe from what I've read.

Every car and dyno is different. Some tuners will do what you ask of them, regardless of outcome. They are told "my goal is X whp/wtq", they tune with that in mind then ringlands crack or tranny pops. Read on here, plenty of examples. Find a good tuner that understands your limits.

Okay, enough from me, don't forget to prime the turbo when starting the car after the swap (floor accelerator pedal, turn key and engine will spin without starting).

I appreciate your input Stan. I understand the risk I take with any performance mod really. I will be seeking a tuner that not only knows the car, but also will be honest if what I am wanting my severely shorten the lifespan of my engine or transmission. I feel what my goal isn't asking too much from the car. Especially if I am making sure to not cut corners on the mods.

You guys do have better fuel over there, but then again it probably gets pretty hot and humid.

As a reference, here are some graphs of the XT I had. Stock with panel filter and Prodrive 2.5" axleback:

VF43, STi TMIC and exhaust manifold, COBB catted downpipe and 2.5" Prodrive axleback (over-laid with previous graph, gains highlighted in yellow):

Same as before, but with EL header, Invidia 3" catted downpipe and 3" exhaust (over-laid with previous graph, gains highlighted in yellow):

Car made it to 80K at which point I put it back to stock and sold it. It wasn't a crazy fast car, but did pretty well (faster than E36 M3, probably as fast as an E46 M3 if not quicker off the line. Probably fairly close to 335i).
